Will The Equity Market Cheer This Budget?

Budget 2023 was certainly expansionary with a RM388.1bn allocation which is the highest ever. The key highlight was an even larger allocation of RM99b for development expenditure while the B40 and M40 were net beneficiaries with lower taxes and cash handouts. How will Malaysia's equity market react to the Budget and more importantly which sectors and stocks look to benefit? For answers, we speak to Jeremy Goh, Head of Research, Hong Leong Investment Bank.
