On Monday, the government tabled the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill, also known as the EECA, for the first reading in Parliament. The proposed law is part of broader efforts to reduce Malaysia’s carbon emissions by mandating high-intensive energy users to manage energy consumption. How might this law work in practice?
