Ampang - Women Power!

The Ampang P99 seat is a nine corner fight featuring five women candidates. Will this just be a toss up between former Minister of Plantation Industries and Commodities and incumbent MP Datuk Zuraida Kamaruddin who will be defending her seat under the Parti Bangsa Malaysia ticket and Pakatan Harapan’s Rodziah Ismail? Will voters forgive her for the Sheraton move? Zuraida won the seat in GE14 under the PKR ticket and in 2020, she infamously joined the Sheraton Move which saw her defecting to Bersatu leading to the downfall of the Pakatan Harapan government. For insights, we speak to Shazwan Mustafa Kamal, Associate Director, Vriens and Partners.
