Bank Negara Malaysia on Friday announced that Malaysia’s GDP expanded 3.0% yoy in 4Q23, lower than reported by Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) advanced GDP estimates and also consensus figures of 3.4%. Firdaos Rosli, Chief Economist of Ambank Group explains this disappointing figure and what this means for growth in 2024.
