In yesterday's budget, Singapore unveiled its first budget deficit since the Asian financial crisis recognising how badly Covid-19 has affected the global economy. It may also be a rakyat's budget aimed at easing livelihoods ahead of the general elections which is scheduled to be held sometime this year.
