Prime Minister and acting Education Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad has revived the possibility of teaching Science and Maths in English, to mixed responses. For some initial thoughts and comparisons to previous English-medium policies in the past, we got in touch with Harry Tan, Secretary-General of the National Union of the Teaching Profession, for some of the main considerations if the government wants to make this new measure succeed.
