Equality for sustainable prosperity

One of  the leading global experts on economic development, Jeffrey D Sachs, talks about his alternative vision for the world economy by 2030 using the Scandinavian economic model as a possible benchmark. Equality is his key message, and in this context, he also comments about Malaysia's New Economic Policy and that any further affirmative action should not be along the lines of race. Sachs is the Quetelet Professor of Sustainable Development, and Director of the Earth Institute at Columbia University. He is also Special Advisor to United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on the Millennium Development Goals.
