The Cambridge Satchel Company: A Story of Bullies, Bloggers, Bootleg Bags

In 2008, Julie Deane founded The Cambridge Satchel Company at her kitchen table with just £600. The business has since seen phenomenal growth, generating almost £12 million in revenue, with the satchels now sold in over 100 countries worldwide.

Julie shares her inspiring story with BFM's Melisa Idris on how she started the company after discovering her daughter was being bullied at school and needed to raise money to send her to private school.

Listen to the podcast as she takes you through her early struggles and her constant fight against immitation bags, after manufacturers took her designs to set up a rival brand.

She also talks about how the internet played a big role in the success of her business, with the satchels now earning the title of the Brit 'It' Bag!
