Sydney, Singapore, Vienna, Paris and Florence are just a few international cities that have imposed regulations on Airbnb and similar short term rental accommodations. Back home, Penang has prohibited all forms of STRAs in private residential properties, while Sabah is mulling something similar. Yap Zer Ken, co-founder of Plush Services, a company that manages Airbnb and similar short term rental spaces, and Sheldon Fernandez PropertyGuru's country manager for Malaysia, share their views on this subject.
