Vague Definitions Fetter Online Safety Laws

Both the Communication & Multimedia Act (CMA) Amendment Bill and Online Safety Bill (OSB) were passed this week, facing criticism from the Opposition and civil society groups over concerns about censorship. Will these new laws actually enhance the online environment or will it have the effect of repressing freedom of speech? To further dive into this issue, we speak to Dr Benjamin Loh, Director of Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions Impact Lab, Taylor’s University.
