Malaysia’s economy grew by 5.8% on-year in the second quarter of 2024, surpassing even the most optimistic projections of 5.1% in a Bloomberg survey of economists while the average consensus had been 4.7%. Firdaos Rosli, Chief Economist, Ambank explains this exceptional figure and if is it sustainable for the rest of 2024.
