Malaysia’s economy in the first quarter expanded by 4.2% from a year earlier, the fastest pace of growth in a year and higher than the median forecast of several surveys. Lavanya Venkateswaran, Senior ASEAN Economist at OCBC Bank, helps us understand what this means for the country's outlook in light of the government looking to do away with broad-based subsidies.
