Putrajaya recently established the Malaysia Checkpoints & Border Agency, a single body to enhance the level of national defence and security readiness at the country’s entry points. Criminologist Dr Haezreena Begum Abdul Hamid, Deputy Dean (Postgraduate Studies) at the Faculty of Law at Universiti Malaya, discusses how this will help (or not) with human trafficking cases on the rise.
