Bracing For Q2 GDP Slowdown

Malaysia recorded 5.6% GDP growth in Q1 2023, but is it downhill from here? Economists polled by Reuters are predicting a median GDP growth of just 3.3% for Q2, which would be the lowest in two years. Ahead of Bank Negara’s announcement, we ask Bank Islam Chief Economist Firdaos Rosli for his forecast and his outlook for the Malaysian economy.
