Recent statistics show that Sabah recorded the highest jobless rate in the country, accounting for 29% of total unemployed, despite the state ranking fifth highest in terms of GDP. Why is a relatively rich state unable to provide jobs for its residents? We speak to Ariff Adi Putera Anwar, Research Officer at the Institute for Development Studies (Sabah) for analysis.
