Forced to train in exile in Malacca, Filipino weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz shushed her nay-sayers bringing home the Philippines' first ever gold-medal at the Tokyo Olympics. While she dominated the 55kg final and setting an Olympic record along the way, her road wasn't easy - training amidst the covid-19 restrictions with battle gym closures & lack of access to weightlifting equipment, and of course; this amidst the uncertainty of whether the Olympics will happen at all. She joins us on the programme this episode, as we pick the brains of Philippines' latest national hero.
