S2E45: The NFDP Saga

The NFDP (National Football Development Programme) has hogged the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent weeks. The loss by the national Under-16 team, comprising NFDP players at the recent AFC Under-16 Championship has opened a can of worms. Among the shocking revelations include coach Lim Teong Kim's RM175,000 per month salary and the poor conditions at the RM85 million Mokhtar Dahari Academy in Gambang.

But one man saw this coming three years ago. Veteran sports writer Tony Mariadass had, during his time in Malay Mail, revealed the poor conditions at the academy and how coaches were then quitting the programme. Tony joins us this week as we explore more.
