After a five month break anticipation mounts as the Malaysian Super League prepares to resume action this weekend with the highly anticipated clash in the Piala Sumbangsih (Charity Shield) featuring perennial contenders Johor Darul Takzim against Selangor. JDT's decade-long dominance, poised to potentially secure an impressive 11th consecutive league title - adds a layer of familiarity to the proceedings - however significant changes loom on the horizon with the introduction of Video Assistant Referees (VAR) and Financial Fair Play (FFP).
