Akar umbi yang menghubungkan muzik dengan budaya dan masyarakat adalah amat dalam, dan mempengaruhi cara sesebuah masyarakat itu hidup. Kajian tentang aspek ini dipanggil etnomusikologi, dan minggu ini, Bila Larut Malam akan mempelajari bagaimana kajian ini cuba memahami dengan lebih mendalam hubungan tersebut, dari aspek yang tradisional dan moden.
