The Autobahn

This week on Cruise Control, Ariff sheds light on the fabled German Autobahn. With its lack of speed limits, the Autobahn is a huge part of every car enthusiasts' bucket list, as a famous phrase states: "No matter how fast you're driving on the Autobahn, somebody's always going faster than you". Today, a 40-year old debate on the Autobahn continues, as many begin to question its necessity and its purported lack of safety and care for the environment. With the European Union's tightening regulations on emissions, and the auto industry experiencing a shift and a slump due to the rise of electric vehicles and COVID-19 respectively, will the Autobahn continue to be the world's fastest motorway?
