Three SUVs Go Head-to-Head

Our Cruise Control trio are back this week with reports from the local automotive industry, previewing new releases in the market, discussing local EV discounts plus a compare and contrast between three new seven-seater SUVs currently in the market.

News-wise, it's the Germans that are dominating the headlines again. First Mercedes Benz launched the latest GLC and GLE Coupe with some glorious upgrades from the previous editions. BMW are also in on the action with the announcement of the i5 electric sedan, a thrilling edition to their legendary 5 series portfolio. Hyundai's SUVs are also taking bookings now, with the impending arrival of a fourth generation Santa Fe and Tucson, the latter locally assembled in Kulim, Kedah. In lieu of Proton's incoming new sedan, we also discuss the possible price points for the much touted S70.

Price discussions continue as Daniel takes us through the price slashes in the local EV market, as Audi, Volvo, Great Wall Motors all announced year-end discounts on their electric fleet. We finish with reviews for three(!) modern SUVs that fall in the same price bracket, pitting together Proton's X90 against Chery's Tiggo 8 Pro and Toyota's Innova Zenix.
