Jom Bertandang ke Tandang

Independent record stores might be sinking into the uncharted waters with the rise of digital downloads but as we peruse the hidden corners of our capital city, we’ve stumbled upon a treasure trove called Tandang Records Store. Formed by two DIY label owners - Alak and Wan, the record store and label of the same name stocks reasonably priced titles of various genres. Previously located at underground gig space Rumah Api, they have found another home at KL’s art hub The Zhongshan Building and this week we caught up with the duo to talk about the appeal of independent record stores amongst the punk community and also the influence of the punk ideology in their direction and approach.
