Off The Streets, Into The Ring

Combining martial arts and social activism could easily be one of the more unique approaches to curbing problems of urban poverty. Inspired by the Muay Thai Village on his trip to Thailand in 2013, Imran Harith decided to start up Discover Muaythai with an aim to build better lives for underprivileged youths through martial arts. The social business initiative takes the core values of martial arts - discipline, comradery and respect and fosters it in youth to lead a life of independence and dignity through a four-month development programme. Imran joins us to share the story of how he was inspired to start this noble initiative.
