What’s Up Charlie Hebdo?

Grabbing newspapers headlines and dominating television screens of global networks, the bloody attack on the office of French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, is the subject of show today. While the loss of life does not come close to the recent Peshawar school attack - with 12 dead and 11 hurt – the incident threatens to take on a much larger significance against the backdrop of rising Islamophobia in Europe. Today we take a look at the magazine, the tradition of editorial cartooning and the anxiously expected backlash against Muslim Europeans.

Sharaad Kuttan, Melisa Melina Idris, Annabelle Lee and Muhammad Haniff Baharudin contributed to this report.
