For decades, national public broadcaster RTM has been marred with mismanagement and a growing irrelevance to the public. Recently, a report by the Public Accounts Committee has revealed a mismanagement of funds within the media conglomerate. Among the many debated proposals to save the national broadcaster is the call for RTM to be privatised. We explore the possibilities and reimagine the ideal role of state-owned media.
