Take Five #207 - Spotlight: Roy Hargrove

On this episode, we celebrate the life of seminal trumpeter Roy Hargrove - a man that could make his instrument sing different languages. From the early 2000s as a member of the collective the Soulquarians, he appeared on essential albums across the musical spectrum with D’Angelo’s “Voodoo,” Common’s “Like Water for Chocolate” and Erykah Badu’s “Mama’s Gun and John Mayer's "Continuum." We pay respects to the brightest promise of his jazz generation.
