Dato' Sri Bernard Chandran

Dato' Sri Bernard Chandran, Fashion Designer, King of Malaysian Fashion

01-Dec-16 21:00

Dato' Sri Bernard Chandran

At a very young age, he already found the love for design, having gone to Sungei Wang to buy materials to make his own outfits. After a brief spell in accounting, just to please his parents, he decided to stop, and take a leap into the career that he loved, and went on to study in a local fashion school. Flash forward, he has designed outfits for the Pahang and Brunei royal families, and celebrities like Lady Gaga and Estelle. This achievement earned him the title of Dato', subsequently Dato' Sri, and "King of Fashion" in Malaysia. It was an honour to sit down with him as he recounted his journey to the top.
