Tonight we had a man who has been picked by Zouk as the selected group of DJs who are leading the forefront in dance music scene, used to go by the name Buddy Love, it’s none other than Axel Groove!

Axel Groove aka Sanjeev Raj, he found his inspiration to do what he does today after a long seven years spent in the big urban jungles of Australia. His passion is to educate and show the masses the sounds of house music.

When he returned to Malaysia, he went under Excessive Studios where he honed his DJ skills under the care of Bryan Burger, the founder of said studio. Soon, Axel decided to venture into the scene himself by playing in large Zouk, Vertigo, The Roof, Nagaba and countless other hotspot of Kuala Lumpur.

For concerts, Axel have performed in many internationally renowned concerts like Future Music Festival Asia, Red Bull F1 Grand Prix and Fred Perry Subsonic. Aside from being a DJ, he’s also an music and festival promoter within the South East Asian region. He had worked with Mos Def, Hot Since 82 and also for the recent 2 day Freqender Music Festival in Singapore.

Finally, Axel is managing and will be performing for Malaysia’s newest neo-soul festival, Soul Fest Asia happening on October 17th 2015. Phase one announcement revealed Mary J. Blige and Jhene Aiko will be some of the headliners. Axel prides himself for an amazing blend of Disco, House and Deep Tech for his DJ sets.
