Faridah Merican

Faridah Merican, KLPAC

23-Jun-15 20:00

Faridah Merican

Tonight, we are blessed with a stage veteran with half a century’s worth of experience and also lovingly known as Malaysia’s First Lady Of Theater, Faridah Merican!

Another proud Penangite on our show, Faridah also carries the ‘nothing is impossible’ attitude associated with the island. Most notably with the unfortunate incident of 2003, where The Actor’s Studio in Plaza Putra of 24 years strong was lost to a flash flood. In the short span of two years, Faridah and her equally well renowned husband, Joe Hasham managed a grant straight from Tan Sri Francis Yeoh in creating and building KLPAC into what it is today.

2015 marks the tenth year anniversary for KLPAC ever since it’s French art festival launch in 2005. Spearheading this occasion, is a line of 10’s where it is a showcase of 10 singer-songwriters, choreographers, theater directors and installation artists. Faridah’s work plate is never empty with her still is on stage herself with an upcoming play ‘Sisa-sisa: A Collection Of Four Plays’ and being as an executive producer for ‘A Taste Of Water’ directed by Joe that will be played in mid-July.

For the record, Faridah scored 4!
