John "We Jun" Cho, Filmmaker

John Cho

John “We Jun” Cho. Nope, not the guy from Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle! John, Malaysian independent filmmaker, winner of the Best Short Film at the Festival Filem Malaysia (FFM27) for Salvaj (2014), and also the guy who was selected to have his work shown at international film festivals in Japan, Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Poland, Montenegro and the USA.

Before deciding to become a full-time filmmaker, he had a very promising career in consumer durables; durables it seems, were not for John...

Most recently, he was selected to direct 'Coaster', a short film presented by Tiger Beer, where he was mentored by Hollywood director Baltasar Kormákur. Another of his works, 'Breaking Point', is expected to be released in early 2016 as part of the series of Fixi Novo short films produced by James Lee's Doghouse73 Pictures, adapted from short stories published in the KL Noir: Yellow anthology.

John enjoys most film genres apart from horror and that kind of experimental tosh that nobody seems to understand.

For the record, John scored 21!
