Phoon Chi Ho

Phoon Chi Ho, Comedian

13-Jul-15 20:00

Phoon Chi Ho

Fighting off the heavy case of Monday Blues, TTON had yet again another comedian up in the studios with us. The funnyman’s name is Phoon Chi Ho, a comedian, full-time husband and an apt chef wannabe judging from his Instagram photos!

As most passions of life, it started in school. Whilst studying at Sultan Abdul Samad as a teen, he was inspired by the arts and joined in the drama club under the care of Instant Cafe Theatre’s Sukania Venugopal. As an actor, Phoon has been featured in a few films, shorts and series. Phoon played as Ryan in the local film The Joshua Tapes in 2010 and won KLPAC’s Short + Sweet 2010 for Best Actor in Post-modern-isms.

As he still proclaims his love will always be for acting, Phoon comedic prowess and wit is as sharp as his acting, lost his comedy virginity with a comedy slapstick troupe which he created in 2004 called The ComeBackKings. As he continued back to being a scriptwriter for gua.com.my, friends ushered him to write material for himself. With a few successful first shows on his belt, comedy standup is now his new art.

2015 saw Phoon reprising the role of Soon for Shear Madness 3 for the third time in two years. We seen him on the musical stage again with him starred in Baik Punya Cilok the musical and with wit on his side, he has penned three episodes for the local favourite series, Oh My English!

For the record, Phoon scored 17!
