Roen Cian

Roen Cian, The Roof

20-Aug-15 20:00

Roen Cian

Tonight in our TTON studio, he left the world of advertising and came back with an impeccable string of successful nightlife spots dotted all around Kuala Lumpur, he’s none other than Roen Cian!

Roen started off by studying Advertising and Marketing in University of Canberra. He came back to dive deep into the world of advertising with big names like NagaDBB, Grey Worldwide and Moet Hennessy Diageo Malaysia. After a decade’s worth of experience and lessons, Roen decided to leave his well-paying salary for a bigger challenge, being a player in the F&B industry.

His start was being one of the co-founders for TTDI’s popular Tom, Dick and Harry’s bar in 2009. But things got up to a higher gear when him and childhood friend, Dax got to get together at an empty bungalow in Damansara Heights and kickstarted their empire of nightlife spots. By 2010, The Hill at Damansara Heights was quickly gaining traction in the KL nightlife scene.

Things were going well for the man as The Pool at Jalan Ampang was opened in 2012. Although 2013 saw the closing of The Hill, resources were pulled together, headquarters were shifted, an investment of RM10 million later, The Roof at Bandar Utama was launched in mid-2013 reminding everyone that Roen is now one of the big guns in the industry.

Not resting on his laurels, Roen has two new projects; one is Life Juice Co. A new health food company that does cold press juices, smoothies and organic elixirs. And inspired by his passion for football, Roen setup The New Camp in Bandar Utama, a 3 acre sports complex boasting 2 FIFA approved 3G astroturf football fields. As the cherry on top, last month, he became an ambassador for Adidas.

For the record, Roen scored 14!
