Sean Yoong

While most people can only dream about their ideal job in this world, Sean Yoong is a testament to that because he is actually living and breathing it at this moment. You may or may not have heard of him and it’s understandable because he’s usually under the radar behind his widely successful food blog, EatDrinkKL.

He was born in Malacca and he studied in Penang for a while so naturally the love and passion for food was present from the very beginning. It was still subtle back then as he eventually made his way to Kuala Lumpur and began working and reporting for The Associated Press. Suffice to say, a total of 15 years working for AP had taken a toll on Sean.

According to him, he actually started the food blog whilst having one cocktail too many and he never looked back ever since. Since then, he has travelled to a couple of countries and has dined in over 2,500 restaurants to date.

Back in December 2005, Sean Yoong was named Malaysia’s top food influencer at the first ever Influence Asia awards in Singapore. But even more than that, him and his blog have become the rock of Malaysia’s dining scene and he has opened up the blinds for all of us to see that there are more to experience and eat out there in the world than we can ever dreamed of.
