By The Way: Pink Floyd Feud, J.Cole Joins Pro Basketball, Jason Newstead Not Joining Megadeth, Coachella To Happen in 2022

By The Way is a rapid-fire segment that gives you a snapshot of developing stories in the music world. This week, the mud-slinging between Roger Waters and his ex-band Pink Floyd continues, as they fought over liner notes that were supposed to be included in the remastered release of 1977's Animals. Pink Floyd won the battle, but not with Waters having his own say on the issue. American rap star J. Cole completed his short-lived basketball dream with the Rwanda Patriots Basketball Club with five points, three assists and five rebounds. Ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newstead has denied rumors linking him with the vacant spot in Megadeth, after the metal band expelled their long-term bassist, David Ellefson. Lastly, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is coming back in 2022 for its first edition since 2019. The lineup has yet to be announced but the festival will run on the weekends of April 15th - 17th and 22nd - 24th.
