By The Way: Marilyn Manson in Hot Water, Drake Made History, Sophie’s Passing, Coachella 2021 Cancelled Again

By The Way, is a rapid-fire segment that gives you a snapshot of developing stories in the music world. This week, Marilyn Manson was accused of alleged abuse by former partner, Evan Rachel Wood and dropped by his agency and record label, CAA and Loma Vista Recordings. Canadian artist Drake made history by gaining over 50 billion streams on streaming platforms, making him the first artist to do so. Scottish electronic producer Sophie passed away at age 34 after an accident. Lastly, Coachella is canceled for the third time due to the health crisis, once again leaving the live music sector in limbo.
