By The Way is a rapid-fire segment that gives you a snapshot of developing stories in the music world. This week, more Eric Clapton vaccine stories - he said he will not perform at any venues that require attendees to prove that they’ve been vaccinated against Covid-19. Universal Music Group (UMG) inked a licensing deal with video-sharing social platform Lomotif. Users will now be able to “create clips using songs from the Big Three record label, and seamlessly add UMG’s music to their video clip right from the app. The Beatles' music is to be stored in a vault near the North Pole which will be used for “future-proof digital storage” for centuries to come. Lastly, Spotify is slowly losing its market share to its rivals, according to a report published by MiDia Research.
