Political Views and Music

The year 2021 did not start the way we expected as we observed from afar the storming of the United States Capitol, resulting in 5 deaths. Shortly after, music news sites started exposing American musicians who were involved in the riot. One of them being Ariel Pink, who was unsurprisingly dropped by his record label Mexican Summer due to the event. This poses a question when an artist has opposing political views, are we as fans, able to separate the artist from their craft?
