Rap For Democracy

As Myanmar's military coup solidifies its position, clashes with citizens continue to spread across the country as the demands for a return to democracy remain steadfast and persistent. With the difficulties in forming and sustaining a band in Myanmar, musicians have turned to hip-hop as a medium to express powerful messages against military violence. To understand why we check in with Osho, head honcho of the hip hop collective Rap Against Junta - he shares the reasons for the formation of the collective, laments on the current situation in their very own land, and his experiences producing tracks under challenging circumstances.
