With a new government coming into power under Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, there are concerns that tabled media reforms could be undone. As part of the pro-tem committee set up to finalize the framework of the Malaysian Media Council last January, Gayathry Venkiteswaran, Assistant Professor of Media and Communications at the University of Nottingham Malaysia, shares her perspective on how the ongoing political developments could affect the media.
