Upon completion, the venture will have a combined 6.2 million subscribers in North America, trailing only YouTube TV. Yesterday, the Finance Ministry revealed a whole host of incentives relating to the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ). Eligible companies will enjoy a special tax rate of 5% for up to 15 years, in addition to other tailor-made incentives are allocated to businesses operating in certain flagship areas in SEZ. Also, eligible knowledge workers working in the zone are entitled to a special tax rate of 15% for 10 years. So just how attractive are these incentives to potential investors and other stakeholders? For some thoughts on this, we speak to Dr Walter Theseira, Associate Professor of Economics, Singapore University of Social Sciences.
