Going by anecdotes and forwarded messages on social media, we appear to be looking at an influenza outbreak. However, the Ministry of Health has said that the slight increase in influenza-like illness is still within normal parameters. We check in with consultant respiratory physician Dr Helmy Haja Mydin to find out whether we should be concerned about the current influenza strain or the mysterious viral pneumonia in Wuhan, China.
