No Child Left Behind

Projek Iqra is an NGO working to provide free lessons to students who are falling behind in schools and can’t afford to attend tuition classes. The initiative, Kelas Rakyat, is operating in four states with the support from i-Sina Academy, a social enterprise focused on education. As Malaysia strives towards a people centric economy with the release of a national social enterprise blueprint recently, Lizah Ali, founder of i-Sina Academy, and Sharifah Sharina Syed Azwad, Vice President of Projek Iqra, joins us on the show today to talk about why kids are falling behind in schools, Kelas Rakyat's financial sustainability, and how they intend to duplicate this model across the country.
