Harnessing Data for Automatic Voter Registration

Automatic voter registration has been turned into a contentious issue in implementing the landmark Undi18 Bill. After several statements were made by some quarters saying that it would be difficult to implement, the Election Commission has come out to say that Undi18 and automatic voter registration would only be done after September 1st, 2022. We speak with the tech lead for Parlimen Digital, Eshaan Menon, to understand what exactly goes into automatic voter registration, and how long it really takes to complete.
