自民党总裁选举9月27号投开票，石破茂（Shigeru Ishiba）就一路从9人混战的局面，到最后3强鼎力的激战中，以215票打败对手-高市早苗的194票，成功坐上自民党新任党魁宝座，也被国会两院指名为新任首相。
