Top 5 at 5: Tun Daim's Posthumous Acquittal

Former Finance Minister Tun Daim Zainuddin was posthumously acquitted by the Sessions Court of all charges, after failing to declare his assets to the MACC. Criminal lawyer Goh Cia Yee weighs in on this decision.

· The fight to end child marriage: We re-examine the current laws regarding child marriage in Malaysia, which civil society organisations like Sisters in Islam have panned for its inconsistencies and legal loopholes that could be exploited. We reach out to Rozana Isa, executive director of Sisters in Islam to understand the long-term consequences of child marriage in Malaysia and what needs to happen to accelerate reforms.

· Ministry's message for World Children's Day: Celebrated with the theme "Reimagining the Future", World Children's Day this year encourages people to listen to children about their hopes, dreams and ideas for a better future. Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri shares her message on World Children's Day about the Ministry's ongoing efforts to increase youth participation with initiatives like the College National Council. She also reminds listeners about the importance of listening to Malaysia's youth.

· Lead in Lindt chocolate?: A Consumer Reports investigation in 2022 found elevated levels of lead and cadmium in two Lindt chocolate bars. Since then, Lindt has been involved in a class action lawsuit for violating state labelling rules by failing to disclose the presence of these heavy metals in their products. We reach out to Associate Professor Dr Ahmad Faizal Abdul Razis for clarification about the prevalence of these heavy metals in our supermarkets.

· Popek Popek Parlimen: In today's Dewan Rakyat session, we look at the government's plan to address lack of literacy and numeracy skills amongst children. The MPs also discuss the increase of drug abuse in the Pendang district, and nationwide initiatives being taken to tackle drug abuse cases in the country.
