After a long drawn out legal battle, the Malaysian government finally recognised 3 stateless children as citizens of the country. The decision came just before their cases were to be heard by the Federal Court, effectively resolving their cases. While it’s a happy ending for the children and families involved, what of the many other children facing the same predicament? Lawyer Raymond Mah, who represented some of the applicants, speaks to us about the state of play involving the law on stateless children.
