The US Federal Reserve has lowered interest rates for the first time in more than four years, reducing the target for its key lending rate by 0.5 percentage points, to the range of 4.75%-5%. Vishnu Varathan, Head of Economics & Strategy at Mizuho Bank shares his insights into how this decision affects equities, currencies and the overall global economy.
