Bank Simpanan Nasional was borne of a 1974 Act of Parliament to fulfil the social objective of savings awareness amongst the public. Today, its duties include fulfilling the financial needs of the underserved, unserved and unbanked. BSN is also the sole distributor of government aide to the rakyat.
